Raising funds for World AIDS Day

In 2008 ‘The Red Ribbon Revue’ hadn’t officially been named as we produced our first show and it wasn’t until after the event that we decided to run the following years event under the name.

It was this year that Jane Saunders stepped in and offered her help. Our first foray together was an open mic at Filthy McNasty’s Pub at Angel. I invited a few West End friends to come down and perform for the cause.

Flying by the seat of my pants and not realising just how much organisation it would all be. We raised over £1000.

Early in 2009 I asked Jane if she’d like to help me again. We decided that our event needed a name and thanks to an epiphany from Jane The Red Ribbon Revue was born. In 2007 proceeds of £500 from a special dance class went to the National Aids Trust and in 2008 were donated to Positive East.
